Richard is retiring at the end of this year and I take over the studio in January.
I'm excited, terrified, and a bit sad. Richard represents so many things to me; he's a mentor, a friend, a massively skilled glassmaker, a very chilled out guy who can chat to anyone and is just an all round brilliant human being. This year has been tough as I've hardly gotten to make glass with him at all. I see him occasionally in the mornings when he collects his work from the day before. I figure I can still catch him in the pub in 2019 though.
My journey as a young(ish) female glassmaker based in the UK. Likely to include thoughts, projects, gallery/exhibition visits and mini rants.
